RSS IT Milans organized a free medical camp in collaboration with Seva Bharathi on May 15th, 2016 in a settlement called Siddique Nagar, near Gachibowli for marginalized groups.
The area is mainly inhabited by security guards, housekeepers, cooks, and drivers. Most of the demography here comes from the eastern part of India, like Assam, Bengal, Orissa and neighboring regions.
In 2012, large number of Assamese inhabitant were threatened to leave the city after violence broke out between Bodos and Muslims in Assam. To bring harmony, sense of security and brotherhood between locals and migrant workers, IT Milans Swayam Sevaks started working in Siddique Nagar.
More than 125 people attended the camp, which started at 5pm and went well over 9 in the night. The event started with a basic medical checkup.
The security guards have to stand most of the time, their sleeping and dietary habits are all messed up due to their work, and a lot of people indulge in tobacco and liquor. So, doctors not only offered medical consultation but also counseled them about dietary habits to keep healthy.
Dr Chandra Bhushan Ji, Dr. Anupa Ji and Dr. Chakrapani Ji and Shri Aatma Lingam Ji rendered their services and expertise.
More than 15IT Milans Swayam Sevaks volunteered for the camp. They planned the event from scratch and personally contacted over 600 inhabitants by doing door-to- door contact, without using any pamphlets.
